Dr. Kurushima completed her PhD at Osaka University and is a qualified prosthodontist in Japan, bringing extensive clinical and academic experience in prosthodontics, oral rehabilitation, and geriatric oral care. She has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Japan, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based treatment planning and interdisciplinary approaches in removable prosthodontics.
Now based in the UK, Dr. Kurushima is enrolling an MClinDent in Periodontology, further advancing her expertise in managing complex restorative and periodontal cases. Her special interests include functional and aesthetic oral rehabilitation, with a particular focus on precision in soft and hard tissue management within a multidisciplinary setting.
Dr Malik is a Specialist in Prosthodontics with nearly 17 years of experience in complex restorative, aesthetic and implant dentistry. He holds a clinical academic position at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute, where he teaches and supervises postgraduate dentists in both research and advanced clinical practice relating to fixed and removable prosthodontics.
His work focuses on challenging cases, including full mouth rehabilitations, advanced tooth wear, developmental anomalies (such as hypodontia and amelogenesis imperfecta) as well as the prosthodontic management of oncology patients.
His courses combine academic rigour with clinical relevance, and are designed for dentists who want to deepen their understanding of restorative, implant, and digital workflows.
He has received multiple awards, including First Prize at the Italian Academy of Prosthodontics (AIOP), the UCL Eastman 3M Prize for Clinical and Academic Excellence, and recognition from the British Society of Prosthodontics (BSSPD).
Step 1: Simulation
The initial section of the course is dedicated to the art of simulation. Here, we will guide you through the process of creating a preview for your patient . This step is pivotal as it enables you to secure patient approval by showcasing the expected result through the wax up and by placing the mockup in the patient's mouth.
Step 2: Copy
The heart of the course lies in the "Copy" section. This phase delves into the intricate details of copying the diagnostic wax up in the injection moulding template. This process is executed using clear silicon, ensuring precision and attention to every nuance. The level of detail and thoroughness during this step is a hallmark of our course and sets the foundation for achieving exceptional results.
Step 3: Paste
The final section, "Paste," involves the execution phase within the patient's mouth. This step encompasses the duplication of the wax up, realised through the injection moulding technique you've learned. By seamlessly integrating the pasted version into the patient's oral cavity, you showcase the culmination of the simulation and copying phases. This execution is a testament to the perfected injection moulding technique and its potential to transform your practice.
